Choosing yourself begins with paying attention.
Personal essays about choosing yourself, noticing the extraordinary in ordinary life, and living with intention.

Lena Marrow is a place for quiet reflection. Through personal essays on work, family, boundaries, grief, joy, and change, I invite you to slow down, pay attention, and ntoice the extraordinary in ordinary life.

Lena Marrow was created as a space to write honestly about what it means to change while you’re still living through the change. I write about family, boundaries, grief, joy, work, identity, and the quiet realizations that often arrive when we finally slow down enough to notice them.
These aren’t lessons written from the other side. They’re reflections from somewhere in the middle—from a woman learning what to carry forward, what to put down, and what it means to choose herself without apology.
I don’t write because I have everything figured out. I write because paying attention has changed me. And sometimes, putting words to what we’re living helps us see our own lives a little more clearly.
If something here feels familiar, I hope you’ll stay awhile.
